Founded in 1978 as a state university, and has turned a minor multidisciplinary institute, focusing on courses as scientific, engineering, oil and gas, management then has set up tight relationships with companies and government institutions.

Scholarships
University of Science and Technology recruits 120-160 students for scholarships every year. Scholarships for Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Degree as well as for language courses are provided.
For students wishing to study at the bachelor:
- You do not need to know Chinese to get s scholarship.
- The first year of the course, students will also learn the Chinese language – the cost of training and living 8,000 yuan per year.
- The following years, a foreign student with high academic achievement receives a Class A Scholarship (free tuition and accommodation).
- For students who do not have high academic success, the same conditions of the scholarship remain as in the first year.
Every year Changzhou University recruits more than 100 international students from Central Asia, East Asia, North America.
