General information of Chongqing Jiaotong University
Chongqing Jiaotong University, opened in 1950 and reformed itself into interdisciplinary institute that is in possession of comprehensive schooling programs, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees, occupying history, languages, literature, legislation, economy, marketing, engineering and different branches of other disciplines. The overall number of scholars amounts to 43,327 and among of them, 12,000 are part-time scholars.
During the past 50 years of development, Chongqing Jiaotong University owned several bands of qualified faculties, which are specialized with important engineering-subjects such as Engineering and structuring bridges, Harbors and sea transportations, Engineering of Highways simultaneously with other subjects like literature, legislation, economy, marketing, so on. International students in Chongqing Jiaotong University
Since 2002, international students from all over the world have been enrolled by Chongqing Jiaotong University and 365 of them are studying here. Mainly of these students are from France, Germany, UK, Korea. Besides, the university opened a H.S.K testing internet website, called “Testing Chinese language skills”. There is also courses for preparing for the tests. Here are the courses: starter, elementary, pre-intermediate, upper-intermediate, professional and near native.
These courses offer the culture and language disciplines, consist of speaking and listening, complete Chinese, writing Chinese symbols, the language by movies and music, and much more for the whole scholars in the university. Moreover, some stations of learning the language, oversea scholars’ activities, the group of international students and the corner of Chinese were structured to enhance intelligence and knowledge of the learners.
Accommodations
In the area of the university, there are two accommodations, namely the Nanshan dormitory and Shiangdu dormitory, and both of them can be used by any foreign scholar. The accommodations consist of double rooms are new-fashioned and very comfortable. The rooms are supplied with internet, air-conditioners, televisions, refrigerators and every equipment necessary for living and studying. There are special personnel members who care about the scholars and have many responsibilities for them. One accommodation can accept about 1,000 students at once. Living in the dormitories is as like as cities, near the accommodations, the students may see jam-traffic, hypermarkets and other situations, which are a part of a day in cities.
