Almost every three years starting from a thousand nine hundred ninety-six up to two thousand three there have been several confluences in the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Namely, in the beginning, ECUT blended with the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Afterward, SOIRI joined this consolidation. Eventually, SMIC, PPC also became part of this association.

Facilities
There are fifteen schools, two educational departments, thirty study centers, twelve bases for investigation and three academies of research. At present, there are more than sixteen thousand enrolled scholars involved in educational activities; almost four thousand scholars hold a degree of bachelor and nearly three hundred Ph.D. degree representatives. In accordance with principles of commercial shaping and evolvement program, this academic institution is in the process of accommodating and improving the framework of educational subjects.
These days, there are fifty-six programs designated for bachelor degree holders, three bases intended for the apprenticeship of scholars having a post-doctoral degree, three programs for graduates on the initial level, thirty programs for graduates on the second level. Educational activities

The University of Shanghai for Science and Technology lays great emphasis on the global academic interchange process. So far, it has organized collaborative ties with more than ten academic organizations from Austria, Mexico, Korea, Sweden, Belarus, and England. It also has several programs in collaboration with different well-known academic organizations including MIT, SSM, SU, CUNY, US, GUAS, and US.
