University of Science and Technology of China (hereinafter U.S.T.C) was founded in 1955 in Beyjing and in 1972, it changed it’s location to Hifei and opened a college that gives degrees to students in 1977 Once in the history of China. These years, it has been sponsored by the local projects such as “two-one-one” and “nine-eight-five”.

It also took part in the programme called “Innovative Education” and enters the list of best 10 universities of China. Now, University of Science and Technology of China is controlled by the Ministry of education and counted as one of the main educational department, which has new-fashioned methods, programmes especially in the field of socialism. It is only university in the state that manages 2 native labs at the same time.
There are 26 colleges that opened to grant postgrads and these are some of them: the college of software engineering, the college of information technology and computer sciences, the college of biochemistry and material educations, the college of math sciences, the college of physics, 13 institutes and 38 divisions in the cities like Hifei, Nangjing, Shengyang, Chanchung, etc. University of Science and Technology of China offers 19 bachelor’s degree programmes on the subjects (Math, Biochemistry, liberal arts, engineering and much more), and 13 master’s degree programmes.
Facilities
In addition, University of Science and Technology of China manages 23 labs, which consist of high quality native labs, and 34 R&D centres. In the university, there are 5 campuses, cover a floored area of 20km2, the Centre campus, the east, the west, the south and the north campuses. The Centre campus is main campus of the university and has an archive with proximately 2,000,000 volumes and over 1,000,000 e-books.
University of Science and Technology of China is in possession of 3,200 teachers (30% of them are senior lecturers), and nearly 30,000 scholars, consist of 15,000 bachelors, 11,000 master levels and 4,000 PhDs. Since 2001, U.S.T.C has been granting foreign students with big scholarships. At the moment, 956 collegians are studying at University of Science and Technology of China.
