University was formed in 1963 and was named the High school of training courses for foreigner students. In July 1965, with the ratification of the State-Council of China was renamed the Beijing Institute of Languages, in July 1997, the conclusion of the Ministry of Education was formally named the Beijing University of Language and Culture.

Beijing Language and Culture University publicizes periodicals, manual and teaching AIDS, which are extensively used by educational institutions in one hundred countries.
The University consists of an examination center to determine the level of wisdom of the Chinese language (H.S.K) for foreigners.
